Welcome to In Principio

Welcome to my new blog. It will have several features:

  • Major articles on matters of Faith and current affairs – I intend to post these about once a week.
  • Short takes and comments throughout the week.
  • Frequent devotional topics, including the following of the Church’s Liturgical Year.  The Liturgical Year is an inestimable treasure given to us by Holy Mother Church, the sweet Bride of Christ, in which the Divine Paraclete dwells.
  • Daily posting for the 54-Day Novena for the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, as requested by Our Lady at Fatima. The Novenas run regularly have until now appeared exclusively in a Facebook group, and run regularly throughout the year, usually beginning and ending on or near significant feast days of the Church
The influence of this blog is decidedly, unapologetically, and traditionally Catholic. It is our firm conviction that Jesus Christ gave a mandate to the Church, a mission to the Church to teach all nations, baptizing in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. This mission cannot change. It comes from Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)  There can be no fundamental change or shift away from the Mission of the Church to lead us all to our eternal destiny.

In 1917, Jesus Christ sent his Mother to speak to us at Fatima to prepare us for the times we are now living through. She came to give us – not a new revelation – but to prepare us to live in times when the teaching of the Divine Revelation of God is muted in the world, and even now in the highest echelons of Holy Mother Church.  This must never, never be the cause of discouragement. We are the Church Militant, and our charge is to fight and defend our mother, our beautiful Church against the distortions, against the modern day Philistines who have breached her walls and who disfigure and distort her valiant efforts throughout time to spread the Gospel. We stand under the Cross with Our Lady of Sorrows and the Church suffering with her in her passion.  We pray with all our heart that we may be a comfort to her and not a thorn in the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Our goal is only this: to be faithful sons and daughters of Our Blessed Mother in heaven, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and of our Holy Mother, the Church.

We assert, following the teaching of Bl. Pius IX and the Fathers of the First Vatican Council, and the immemorial teaching of the Church,“that meaning of the sacred dogmas is ever to be maintained which has once been declared by Holy mother Church, and there must never be any abandonment of this sense under the pretext or in the name of a more profound understanding.”  We oppose all efforts to the contrary – ever maintaining our obedience to the legitimate authority of the Church, but obedience to God’s Divine Revelation above all things.
